Because their styles are so different, comparing them is virtually impossible! Yes you have Tarja fan-boys and Anette fan-boys (or girls) but as long as the band is working and playing good music, I don't care. They are a great band and have moved on, so the the Tarja fan base should reminiscence without bashing the change.

still an awesome band despite unfavourable changes. Instrumentally still growing and it's understandable they're aiming for a new direction....a ballad type thing intsead of the operatic thing with Tarja...but was it so difficult to find a singer who can actually sing live?

I like Anettes voice a million times better. It's more metal/rocknroll not trained opera. Plus, this new album is the most Symphonic by far. Nightwish at their peak right now.

you do know of course that live and CD are way different... in the studio they can tweak with off sounds, this ain't nowhere near as bad as a live concert of Shania Twain... The only album that I have and LOVE is Master Passion Greed... I LOVE Annette's voice... I've heard Tarja on Oceanborn (sp?)... I don't like the operatic sound of her voice.

Anette excites me just by showing up. However, I don't think you can really fairly compare this to something like the End of an Era concert that was just breathtakingly fantastic. Look guys I'm seeing this an awful lot on here that Annette sucks dick and all that. I personally believe that if Annette couldn't sing then the Nightwish guys wouldn't have chosen her. Forgive me for saying this but you Cats have got Tarja so firmly lodged in your minds that I don't think anyone could have met the standards that you wanted from her replacement.
