I agree with you when you say that the new characters shouldn't exist as it's not original, traditional Thomas, but children still love the show. I think that's really what the Rev Awdry really wanted.

HiT makes Skarloey and Rhenaes the youngest, and Sir Handel (one of the REAL youngest) and Freddie (THE youngest, as he never existed) the oldest... also, they are referred to as cute. These engines are not babies, they are just normal Narrow Gauge engines. Geez, this show is not TTTE - it's two different shows.

Calling All Engines is the best first special HIT produced (ex: they let Bill and Ben, Daisy, George, etc. appear for the first time). Rusty's small gauge model was even used for the first time since Season 5!!!!!:)^__^ Another time was when Skarloey's small gauge model returned for the first time since Season 5, was in an episode called Thomas and Skarloey's Big Day Out. Even though it featured the #1 engines, it was good enough for me!:)^__^ This proves that HIT can sometimes be nice.

I see. Very big waste of time, money, and resources, making new models like that. And another thing -- where did all these new engines (ie Mighty Mac) come from? I don't believe Awdry Sr. would create such nonsensical characters (a two-headed engine??). And who the f*** thought up female engines (ie Emily)? Didn't Awdry Sr. intend the locomotives to be the males, and the coaches females?? And what about the even more nonsensical stuff like some of the stories? Have u thought about that?

You have know idea how right u r! I can't believe Chris Awdry let HIT slip this far down. For shame. >:( Also, the standard gauges still use g scale, they just have bigger standard gauge models for interacting with narrow gauge.

Oh... now I understand. So you're saying that originally, it was the standard gauge engines which used the G scale, and now it is used for the narrow gauge engines right? Interesting... and oh yes, the original theme song, you remember this instrumental piano ballad right? it was changed into this new song entitled something like "roll-call" or something of that sort... at this rate they're going, HIT is probably going to make Rev Awdry stir in his grave!!

In doing so, they let the narrow gauge engines run on standrd gauge track, and they have a special set for the transfer yards. Because of this change, they needed bigger models. This resulted with the following: Bigger face on rusty Sir Handel's shape change Color change, etc. Now the engines aren't as prototypical as Britt Allcroft(Gullane Entertainment) made them, and they look uglier, in my opinion. Now G scale is used for standard and narrow gauge track.

jose2carreras, G scale is a model railroading track size. I'm not sure how big in millimeters, but it's about 1&1/2 inches wide, roughly. It is the scale the Thomas show uses, and they are electronically controlled and filmed on camera. It was originally used for the standard gauge engines, and the narrow gauge engines ran on smaller track. But HIT, being the money-hungry bitches they are, made the narrow gauge engines G scale also, and made larger standard gauge models for interaction. See next

Ummm... I'm afraid I might not be able to help in that area, I only got to know about Thomas & Friends only just last July. I didn't even notice Sir Handel's shape change (although I am indeed aware that the colors of Sir Handel, Peter Sam, Rusty, and Duncan were changed). Re: Narrow Gauge being G scale... could pls explain what "G scale" means?? Pls reply.

I agree with you all the way! I never supported HIT entertainment's way of publishing this show. It's just so f***ed up how they went and changed everything away from what the Rev Awdry had originally made it. I'd think he'd probably stir in his grave should he hear about all this bullshit! HIT screwed this show. In the Railway Series, Ivo Hugh was #7, not Fearless Freddie (not that I don't like fearless freddie). And why the flip don't the engines have drivers, like Britt Allcroft did. BA made the show so adults could like it too, and it had plot. HIT dumbed it down way too much, and lost all the history of sodor the RS had. F*** HIT Entertainment! Bring back Britt Allcroft!!!!

That's not true. The US already has the complete Season 9, two Season 10 DVD's, every song on DVD and The Great Discovery I think as well. We don't get the last S9 DVD until March 3rd, there is currently no news on S10 or the songs. But we did get S11 on TV and Engines & Escapades first like we should.
