yep. The K2500XS/K2600XS are what he used before the OASYS. He STILL has a K2600XS in the studio that he now uses as a master controller with sounds to control his DAW and all the other Modules he's got. As soon as his contract finishes with Roland with the Fantom-G, though he's going back to the OASYS. And what do you mean by "had" the OASYS? He still has them and he's got 3 of them! What are you smoking, man? We are talking about THE BEST keyboard on the planet! I know cause I have one!

Well, im a jazz and classical pianist, so i've heard plenty of Herbie stuff, and i've heard plenty of Rudess stuff, and while Herbie is amazing, Rudess is just unbeatable when it comes to technical skills. This song doesn't come close to demonstrating Rudess's technical skills or speed. I've seen him play much hard and faster stuff.

As far as I know, from softwere to hardware, YAMAHA orchestra sounds more clean and straight than Roland's. It's good for roland to make sweet brass feeling. As to the range of music using, I cline to YAMAHA sound more! Actually their own styles has been diversed even from the XG vs SC age. BTW the product in this vid is out of style. You may checkout the MOTIF XS and find a superior YAMAHA sound. Good luck!

I would be more interested in the Crafter CT125N as played by Hansleeuwen on youtube. It sounds excellent though the Yamama has the portability advantage. There is nothing like an acoustic sound though. Electrified nylon just is not as attractive in any way.

I used to be skeptical about this guitar when my friend told me he wants to buy one. Now he's got one and I'm gonna get one too. I played it all day yesterday, because frankly I just couldn't put it down. There are so many advantages to this guitar which became apparent to me in an instant after plugging it in and playing it. The sound is simply fantastic, with perfect intonation and excellent sustain. Great playability is another strength and it compares well to high-end real acoustics, IMHO.

I don't think you understand the purpose at all. It's to be used for travel purposes because it's easy to transport, and it makes a fine sound with an amp. In addition, silent guitars are fantastic for practice time where you can't be making a lot of noise. Just plug in your headphones and don't disturb passerby or your sleeping/studying roommate etc.

I've got a different brand of silent guitar - not Yamaha, a far cheaper thing, but the same principle: No corpus, just nylon strings on a piece of wood, so to say. :) I'll be posting a video about this later this week, I suppose. Why would you use distortion with this guitar? It's not an electric guitar, it's an electro-acoustic. Distortion doesn't work well on acoustic guitars. Also, the pickups aren't 'microphonic'. They're piezo pickups that are placed under the saddle which translate pressure vibrations into a current. These pickups are fine for distortion, but it depends on their purpose. These are made and configured to amplify an acoustic sound, and thus it will not work with distortion very well.

This board has a lot of good features, like the huge arpeggio library, Loop Remix, and DAW Remote which integrates it immediately with Logic for example. And it's affordable. However it has some serious drawbacks. Even though it has the full ES Wave ROM, it has seriously less Presets. Also the limited Poly IS a big problem unless you use it with a sequencer. Plus the ES "sound" is beginning to sound a big dated already...

I've just bought new MO-8. I can't say it's amazing, but it's very good workstation for a sensible price. In Poland Mo-8 costs ca. 1660 Euro!!! I bought it in german MusicStore - I payd 1228 Euro (+ 20 shipment, now it costs 1399 - lucky me :) I'm thoroughly satisfied - kyboard in MO-8 is really great (same as in S90ES) and it weighs only 21 kilos - for me it's very important. Sounds are powerfull, sequencer is easy and intuitive. I absolutely recommend this instrument

I don't know what to think of this guy, no doubt a very skilled & talented musician, but a lot of the stuff he plays seems to carry more skill than soul, way too many fast scales of various sorts. Of course music is very subjective, but I just fail to feel his music.
