Green Berets are not better than SEALS. SF trains other countries SF forces and in war they train indigenous forces. SF commanders wait entire careers to lead men into combat. There are several groups dedicated to various regions in the world. SEALS have better chance to see action. DELTAS are the GOD of WAR. THEY are guarenteed to see action. They are the tip of the USSOC spear.

They are completely seperate, the only unit in the British Army you could compare US Army Special Forces (Green Berets) to would be the SAS. The Royal Marine Commandos do wear a green beret, however it is just headgear for them.

The Green Berets are very specialised and there main function is to set up and train allied forces in several different types of warfare ie. gorilla etc. They are expert in all weapon systems and highly educated most speaking several foreign languages and are familiar with the culture of the country they are operating. Teams usually consist of several highly trained specialist, such as medical, communications, ect. They are a very small elite group of men. I wouldn't really call them comandos.

The main reason we do not have a need for a large fighter fleet is because of Canada's role in NATO. Our NATO role is primarily a anti-submarine role and the we use our fighters primarily for homeland defense. Therefore we do not need the large fleet like the Americans have.

At a simulated encounter between F-35 and Sukhoi, in Hawaii, they were described as being "clubbed like a baby seal". Another officer said "can't turn, can't climb and can't run". It was a major factor when we were looking onto the F18�F16 competition. The pilots did not feal safe over the northern area in a single engine aircraft. F14 was also briefly considered not sure if F15 ever came up. as big a fan as I am of american aircraft I think the Typhoon would be a better choice for canada. Well theese new engines could be alot more relilable than the older engines from the previous generation of fighters. Plus according to DND,Canada will only be buying 65 next gen fighter aircraft!!!! The Crucible was initiated by Commandant Al Gray in the 80's. It's not "old Corps", but I think it's one of the most prudent changes ever made. I have no doubt that it makes better Marines, or that it's saved lives by providing a taste of what's down the road.

what kind of rifle is he using, it looks to me kinda like the Mark-11, but thats a 7.62, and the rounds in the mags look a little small for that. plus the RIS system around the barrel, never seen that before. so since its blackwater it probably isnt standard issued either. So anybody know what model it is?

If you think the landing was good due to another engine failure then you need to check out the history of this plane and it's engine maker. These F-16's have such a high crash rate from flame out's to pilot's getting disoriented that you are lucky to survive your aviation career in one of them. Don't believe then look it up for yourself, but my hat is off to our brave pilot's who fly them day in and day out.
